  1. Sasso family ~
So sad to read of the news ~
It was a real pleasure knowing Fr. Sasso,
and I feel fortunate in doing so.
He would always ask of my Sister and her Husband and
was interested and would inquire on what I was doing.
I think he has planted seeds, tended and watered all of our gardens
    with his (ove ~
As a master, while he builds his (ove for you ~
carving this (ove in each of your hearts of your lives with him ~
~ May you feel him with you ~

    Condolences and Sympathy,

  2. We have lost a very generous and loving person who has served his God well. Before he became “Father Joe” he was just “Joe” to us who were lucky to have him in our young lives. We grew up in the Saint Francis of Assisi Parish neighborhood. In later years , Father Joe and I would meet from time to time, and reminisce about the “Good Old Days. I believe Father Joe was always destined to be Father Joe, for even at a young age he aspired to serve his God. There are too many memories to mention here, except for one fond memory that I will always carry, and that was his great and sincere smile. May father Joe Rest In God’s Love.

  3. It was sad to learn of Fr. Joe’s passing. I fondly remember the multiple enjoyable dinners Brenda (my wife) and I had with him and the late Fr. Sebastian Falcone at the former Roncone’s on Lyell Avenue in Rochester. We would often share funny stories and it was always a joy to hear Joe and Sebastian reminisce about the Italian neighborhood they grew up in along the Lyell Avenue stretch. Brenda and I also enjoyed going to Joe’s home in Leroy, where he would display his latest wood carvings and prized garden, and he would always send us home with some of his home-grown tomatoes. R.I.P. Joe. You were an inspiration to many in the Rochester and Buffalo dioceses. You will be missed.
