I came to know Fr. Fleming when he was a chaplain at Genesee Hospital. I served as a volunteer chaplain at the time. His gifts to myself and the patients will remain in my memory always. His gift of liturgy and homilies were always creative and his ability to listen touched people in countless ways. He also gave a great deal to me as a person as well. We did keep in touch occasionally and I always counted him as a friend. I will miss his presence in this world. I am most grateful for all he did for so many.
Father Terry Fleming is someone I will always remember with great fondness. He was the chaplain at Mercy Motherhouse and High School when I lived and worked there. He remains in my memory as an exceptional homilist and liturgist. Terry was creative in his approach and willing to try something different and meaningful. An outstanding example was conducting a Seder service in the Motherhouse dining room. Clearly, Terry was outstanding in all his ministries. I enjoyed his sense of humor and benefited from his cooking talents. My prayers of sympathy go out to all his family.
