Richard J. Korbel Greece: On Thursday, November 15th 2018, Richard James Korbel, loving husband, brother and uncle, passed away at the age of 70. He is survived by his wife, Thea; his brother, Tom; sisters, Pam, Mary and Jill, along with several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Rick was born on September 10, 1948 in Rochester, NY to Joe Violet Korbel. He served in Vietnam from January 20, 1967 to October 29, 1969 with the Army First Cavalry, earning the Distinguished Flying Medal and several others for his heroism. Once home he apprenticed and joined the Sheet Metal union and attained his crane operators license, working in the industry until 2003. On April 7, 1990 he married Thea (Donev) Korbel and enjoyed a deeply loving partnership. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile and his kind and compassionate spirit. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 20th 4-7 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane. Rick's Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, November 21st at 9:30 AM at St. Mark's Church, 54 Kuhn Rd.
