So Sorry to hear about the passing of Rich. I worked with him as a sub at Laurelton Pardee for many years. He was truly a magnificent teacher. He was also my Daughters 6th grade teacher. He always made teaching fun and always added his personal experience in his teaching. I just want to say thank you for all the memorable years. Thank you for the donuts/muffins and also thank you for always including me in the dollar raffle..00,01,02…googleplex!!
Thank you Mr. Lovullo for being the best sixth grade teacher a kid could ask for. You introduced me to Greek Mythology and I’ve loved it ever since. You made school so fun and you quickly became my favorite elementary teacher and someone I have thought of many times over the years. Peace be with you and your family.
All 3 of my daughters had Mr. LoVullo at Laurelton-Pardee. He was hands down their favorite teacher, and one of the main reasons they enjoyed going to school so much… He always played the dollar game with them and all the other kids who would follow him around. He was so much fun, always smiling. He was like the Pied Piper of Laurelton. Every kid in that school adored him. Long after my girls had gone on to high school, and then college, he would always stop me when I saw him in Wegmans and ask, in detail, about each one. Imagine our delight when we found out that my father knew him from high school! They were in the same class together at Madison, then went onto Korea together after they graduated. All these years later, they remained friends, and later in life even became neighbors at Woodridge Court. They went to several reunions together and the annual Madison Christmas lunches. My dad would always call “Richie” to see if he needed a ride or if they could go together. We have so many warm memories of him over the years, and loved hearing stories from my father about things they did in high school and the mischief they caused. He was loved by many and his loss will be felt for many years to come. Truly a one of a kind gentleman. RIP Mr. LoVullo and please watch over all “your kids” You will be forever missed.
My deepest condolences for your loss! Mr. Lovullo was my 6th grade teacher and was, without a doubt, the most amazing teacher I ever had. He was kind and wise and funny and challenging. He had a huge impact on my education and I use some of his riddles to this day. May he rest in peace.
I never had Mr. Lovullo for a teacher but both my brothers did. I remember being jealous they did because they and everyone else who did loved him. He was an amazing man who left his mark on many, many people. We still talk about him in my family and all of us kids are well into our 40’s. So very sorry for your loss. May he rest in peace.
Mr. Lovullo was by far my favorite teacher. I’ll never forget the day I was upset at school because I was being picked on, and he got down on his knees (I was a bit shorter then) in the hallway to comfort me and build me back up. He made learning fun with his crazy games and left me with so many positive memories of elementary school. He was the only teacher I went back to see when I graduated. I hope he knew how much he touched the lives of his students. RIP Mr. Lovullo.
Mr Lovullo was one of my favorite teachers. He was an example of the kind of teacher that I wanted to be. He ignited such interest in his students with his passion, humor and enthusiasm. I later got got to sub along with him, where he gave me some great advice. I was so glad that I got to know him not only as a student, but also as a friend.
He was the very best teacher ever. Inspired my love of history and teaching. Oddly, I thought the man in the booth behind us at dinner Friday night closely resembled him and made me think of him. Hey, Mr. LoVullo…1066…Battle of Hastings!! I will never forget you….

Best teacher ever!
So sorry for your loss, I was lucky to have been taught by Mr. Lovullo, he truly cared about the children and was very good at teaching.

He was an amazing teacher. He really “taught,” and we really learned. He was so kind.
