Services
Robert's visitation will be held 2-4 7-9 on Friday, October 19th. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Additional Information
Born in Utica, Bob attended Utica Free Academy where he played quarterback and earned All-American status. He later played quarterback for Edinboro University and also played lacrosse at Syracuse University.
After graduation, Bob went on to work in executive sales with Prime Computer and various software companies. He often won Top Salesman awards. He was very active in his spare time with coaching soccer and basketball, acting as house manager for school plays, and assisting with set design and construction as well. He was a den leader for the Boy Scouts, and also served on the Board of Directors at Unity Behavioral Health.
Bob liked spending time with family friends and often enjoyed family vacations to places like Aruba, and Myrtle Beach where he could sit in the sun and relax by the pool, maybe while enjoying a cigar and some scotch. He loved Christmas and carving the turkey.
His favorite activities included golfing, driving his 350Z, being active with the Masons, traveling, working, playing sports with his sons, listening to talk radio, ballroom dancing, and taking care of his little dog "Baggio".
Bob was an avid sports fan who followed the New Orleans Saints and all the Syracuse teams - especially basketball. His varied music taste included classcial and jazz music, Bruce Hornsby, Alice Cooper, Boston, and Chicago. Some of his favorite movies were The Godfather, Caddyshack, Stripes, National Lampoon Vacation movies. He relaxed by watching golf, reading autobiographies, self-help books, and using his Kindle.
Friends and family members would best describe Bob as humorous, loving, courageous, caring, strong-willed, proud, devoted, driven, having a Type-A personality, gentle, and supportive. He always loved a good joke.
Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
