I will always remember Rodger as a hard working, loving, determined, funny, and devoted man who despite his set backs was able to raise a wonderful family. He will be missed but his spirit and love will remain forever. Rest in peace brother.
If I were to ever pick the best man my sister could have chosen for a life partner back in the day, it may not have been you, because, Rodger, I wanted Beth to have love, compassion, a partner that would adore her every day of her life. I didn’t know if you could provide all that then. But what was quickly realized shortly after your marriage was she made THE BEST DECISION choosing you. You were all of that and more. I am forever in awe of your perseverance throughout your life and will cherish our family times until eternity. Don’t worry about Beth, I’ve got her back; yesterday, tomorrow and forever.
You were a bright light, Roger. Always so funny and enjoyed our younger years hanging out (even when you got me in trouble). I wish we kept in contact more than we did. Your infectious smile lit up a room you will be so missed. Love you.
Rodger your strength and perseverance through the years have always been an inspiration for me. You were a good man, you have left us way too soon and you will be sorely missed.

It Was Your Time to Fly
As I sit here crying like a buffoon . . .
I think to myself, you were taken too soon.
That would be the selfish side of me . . .
wanting to keep you here instead of seeing you set free.
You had been in that wheelchair so long . . .
as if that was where you truly belonged.
But I knew you before you became wheelchair-bound . . .
when all of nature was your true playground.
Life dealt you the roughest hand . . .
A lesson learned, that life doesn’t always go as planned.
Through it all you raised a beautiful and loving family . . .
and they will make sure to carry on your legacy.
It is fitting that the day I got the news . . .
passing in front of my car a butterfly flew.
Like a butterfly sheds its cocoon and then takes flight . . .
you are out of that wheelchair now and it’s a beautiful sight.
I’ll always miss you and I’m sure more tears I will cry . . .
so I keep telling myself to be happy and that it was just your time to fly.
