Roger accomplished a great deal in his lifetime starting as early as earning Eagle Scout status as a boy. He went on to become a priest and served the community until 1968 when he left to start a family with his newfound love, Angela. He continued schooling while raising a family earning a total of 5 degrees including a Ph.D. in languages. After earning his final degree, he worked in R&D at the Rochester City School District, improving educational programs for underprivileged students. Roger gave his two boys every opportunity he could always being an advocate for them and loved taking the family on camping or destination trips. After retiring in 1990, they moved to Lake Ontario where he and Angela cared for 16 parrots and macaws, which they had an extreme passion and love for. They raised baby birds that went to dozens of other families to enjoy over the years. One of the highlights for many people who knew Roger was the amazing Christmas parties he and Angela threw year after year, sometimes gathering as many as 100 people at their home on the lake. Roger also enjoyed traveling, having visited 49 of the 50 states throughout his life, and stayed physically active. He was an avid skier, golfer, swimmer and even earned his pilot's license, so he could fly to his ski destinations. He hiked all the peaks in the Adirondacks and loved walking out his back door to go for swims in the lake during the summers. His friends called him extremely loyal, maintaining lifelong friendships with many.
