Roy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Doris E. (Mungenast ) Peck ; children, Ann (Joey) Harrell, Jean (Tom) Minkau, Gordon Peck, Sharon Penta Linda Fry; grandchildren, Jody (Cyndi) Harrell, Ashley (Jared) Bertram, Ben Minkau, Jere Minkau, Gregory Peck, Emily Peck, Steven Penta, Jeffrey Penta, James Fry Mark Fry; 8 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins dear friends.
Roy's funeral service will be celebrated, Wednesday, May 22, 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane, (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.). His Burial will immediately follow in Falls Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to Alzheimer's Association, 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620 in Roy's memory.
Roy, the youngest of three children was raised in Henrietta on a farm. He met his wife Doris who was selling a car... he had to "take a look" just to get a better look at her.
He was a great dancer and loved to golf. He got a hole in one, in 2002. He loved many things, but mostly getting together with his family.
Roy was involved in many organizations, including: Honor Guard, Volunteer Brighton Fire Department, Color Guard, VFW, and the Monroe County American Legion, Post 468 where he was past Commander.
Roy was a Buffalo Bills and a Nascar fan. He enjoyed Jeff Gordon TV, comedy TV, westerns and military movies. His top picks for music, was Frank Sinatra or Old Country.
Roy was a lot of fun with a great sense of humor, he loved to have a good time and loved people. He had heart for his country, very patriotic and was also very community-centered. He worked hard, was very loving and cared for people. He was funny and young at heart.
