  1. I was reading an article on high intensity exercise…and immediately thought of you! Your spirit and intense love of life is still such a force …remembering you always ..

  2. Yvonne M. Villareale Relation to Deceased: Friend; Middle and High School Classmate Sam–you were certainly one of a kind. Have wonderful middle and high school memories of you and your contagious personality. Wherever you went, you would light up a room and people would know that you had arrived. I shared many good times at fitness workshops with you. You gave killer work out classes and I learned many “groovy” moves that I borrowed from you and incorporated into my own step classes. Thank you for being one of my teachers. You will forever be in the hearts and minds of your friends and family. You are beloved. May you experience peace in the afterlife. Love, Yvonne The butterfly emerges from its silken shell- Reborn, it arises, no longer bound to earth. Free at last, the butterfly glides to heights unknown before. So do our loved ones find a beautiful release as, earthbound no more, they leave our sight and joyfully rise to a garden of matchless beauty, a place of light and peace. -Evelyn Phillips

  3. Vicky J Martello-Paige Relation to Deceased: Friend I remember the day Sam and I met again at University Health Services. We both had got hired there at the same time. He looked at me and I looked at him and we said I know you! My father was the referee at your brothers wrestling matches in high school. And I said your Aunt Millie lives down the street from me and we all grew up together. We laughed and gave each other a big italian hug and ever since then we have become closer friends. He quickly became a inspiration to everyone he became friends with. He would tell us what to eat, how to exercise and most of all he taught us how to forgive and forget and how to cherish every day we live. I will cherish his visit with me this past March in Florida. We spent the most wonderful week together. I will never forget our walks on the beach every morning at 8AM! And the things we shared that week.He was a true friend, some one I can say any thing too. He always had a way of making me feel better. I will never forget the laughter we shared and the good times. You were one of a kind and there wil never be any one like you. I will miss you and you will always be in my heart my friend The celebration of life, shared in the beginning, and again, in the end. Yet we forget to celebrate it, in every moment we live. Time, days, years, go on, but are we alive? Alive and do not know it, sleeping in the world and dead to the life we are to live. To celebrate all life, the sparrow who sang in the morning, and died in the night, why do we not celebrate its life? To know thyself is to know you are alive – to give, to love, to seek truth, beauty, and suffer pain. In life as it is meant to be, pain is forgotten, and strength is all that’s left to be gained in the moment by moment celebration of life. By Deborah Peabody

  15. Louis D D’Angelo Relation to Deceased: Friend I first met Sam when we worked at Club Atlantis on Washington St, downtown Rochester. At that time, we became close friends. My relationship with my partner was in a downward spiral and Sam was there to support me and lift me up through that horific and troubled time. He helped me move out that negative enviornment and into another phase of my life. He asked me to go to Paris with him, a trip that he already booked. What a time we had on that trip. He opened my eyes to things in a way that knowone else could. Toronto was one of our favorite places to hang out. Many trips were made there. The wonderful times at my cottage in Hamlin. Being out in the water. And then the trips to Fire Island, NY from great south Bay with my cruzer. Sam was able to adapt to any situation. You could bring him anyplace and if things went wrong, he would make the best of it. I wish I could say goodbye to him on Sunday. i know he is at peace with his Mom now. And Sammy where ever you are in spirit, I’m sure you will see my parents in spirit too. Let them know that we love them. You will be sadly missed. As we look back over time We find ourselves wondering ….. Did we remember to thank you enough For all you have done for us? For all the times you were by our sides To help and support us ….. To celebrate our successes To understand our problems And accept our defeats? Or for teaching us by your example, The value of hard work, good judgement, Courage and integrity? We wonder if we ever thanked you For the sacrifices you made. To let us have the very best? And for the simple things Like laughter, smiles and times we shared? If we have forgotten to show our Gratitude enough for all the things you did, We’re thanking you now. And we are hoping you knew all along, How much you meant to us.
