  1. What a gift to the world was Tom as his generous spirit and giving heart touched the lives of many. I worked with Tom at Foodlink where his passion fed his purpose and his purpose fed his passion. Rest in peace and may comfort find your loved ones and bring them peace as your legacy continues. Regine, I am thinking of you at this difficult time. Be strong knowing you are never alone. With love and prayers

  2. Nous sommes avec vous par la prière, pensons à vous depuis Paris. Nous vous embrassons.

  3. I was saddened by the news of Tom’s passing. I met Tom a few years back when I was looking for work. He took the time out of his busy schedule to meet with me even though he knew he didn’t have a position for my credentials. I wanted to work for Foodlink and more than that I wanted to meet the man that followed his passion in life. We talked for over an hour; I was so impressed with Tom as a person more than anything else. I too have a passion for feeding the hungry; but in a more subtle way. I volunteer as a cook at YWCA which benefits from Foodlink. Tom will be greatly missed in the community and beyond. Thanks Tom for helping to make the world better. We can only hope to continue your legacy and make you proud. God bless

  4. We are saddened to hear about the loss of Tom. We know of the profound impact of his vision and leadership from our work with Foodlink. Although his passing is a true loss to the community and to those working to end hunger, we are grateful for the legacy he created. Our thoughts are with his family and colleagues.

  5. I met Tom in 1996, when working for Cornell Cooperative Extension of Monroe County. Tom always had an uncanny ability to read others and to get things accomplished. We served together on several community and academic projects that were rewarding and a joyful learning experience. Tom will surely be missed.

  6. I am honored to light a candle for Tom Ferraro, who was one to light a candle for so many people. He made the world brighter.

  7. Tom was a mentor and friend. He showed me what it meant to be a servant leader. Tom’s legacy is not only felt in the organization he founded, but in the partnerships he formed, the relationships he built, the team he developed, and the thousands of people he fed. Well done Tom, well done.

  8. To John and his family — I was so saddened to hear the news. I am unable to attend the service but please know that I am thinking of you. John, your father was one of the great men who selflessly helped others. I am so sorry for your loss. It is a loss also to the community and to the world.

  9. We are proud to be members of Food link that Tom founded. Tom shared his many talents to help out others in need. For this we feel grateful and blessed. To Toms family and the foodlink staff thank you for sharing Tom with us. As we carry on to help out others may we do so with Tom in our hearts. As Tom looks down from his reward in heaven may we look up and say thank you God for special people like Tom.

  10. I met Tom back in 1986 or so on a trip to Albany, he was a great guy and he is going to be missed.

  11. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go to Tom’s family and friends. He was a wonderful person and a great visionary. I mourn his loss but am deeply grateful to have known him.

  12. Our deepest sympathies to Tom’s family and his Foodlink family. Tom’s impact on hunger will never be forgotten. Thank you Tom!

  13. We are deeply saddened by the passing of Tom. The greatest think a person can do is leave the world a little better than you found it and Tom did exactly that. Be Blessed Tom

  14. I worked with Tom for many years. He was a big-thinker, loving father and husband. Tom was always animated when speaking of his family. We shared many good conversations on food banking and his philosophy. I will miss his engaging smile and laugh. My sincerest condolences to Tom’s family.

  15. I never had the pleasure of meeting Tom but Foodlink is very near and dear to my heart. The work Tom has done to grow this organization to where it is today is amazing. He has made a huge impact on our community. He will be sorely missed but left just such an extraordinary legacy that he will never be forgotten.

  16. I have been a business associate of Tom’s for many years. His passion for what he believed in was contagious. He will be missed but he leaves a tremendous legacy……

  17. Tom will be greatly missed for the kindness he has shown to the Rochester Family Mission. Our food pantry and holiday basket program have blessed so many families in the inner city of Rochester and we could not provide this blessing without his help. His love for helping others will not go unrewarded. We will continue to pray for the family as well as our friends at Foodlink. Trust God!

  18. Tom was discipler of Rochester. His compassion, passion and being troubador for alleviating povery will forever be sketched in our hearts. “Well done, good and faithful servant” has found his ears.

  19. As a founding member, Tom was instrumental in the development of the national food bank network and a true visionary. He passionately advocated for people struggling with hunger and encouraged all of us to work as hard at addressing the root causes of hunger as we do at feeding those in need. He is an inspiration to us and he will be missed! Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and his team at Foodlink.

  22. To a light of our community whose brilliance will live on in his good works. He knew-“Il faut cultiver notre jardin.” His light will be missed but his garden will live.

  23. Tom was a beloved cousin who will be deeply missed, to be a part of Tom’s life was a true blessing. He was a compassionate server touching the lives of thousands in the Rochester Metro Area. He had a flair for innovation and accomplishing civic goals. His warmness, impeccable wit and humor uplifted the many people that he touched. Our hearts ache at his untimely loss, our love will grow deeper each and every day as we remember what a great man Tom our cousin was and always will be.

  27. Like so many of your family and friends we join the chorus of those deeply affected by your untimely passing. We shared your early life with you on a daily basis..yes from kindergarten through eighth grade and had the privilege of being with you again at our 50 year grammer school reunion in 2010…and by then you were a reluctant (extremely) “rock star”. Tom you made all of us so very proud of your true and humble commitment to humanity. It is with the belief instilled in us a chidren and manifested by your life that we your friends absolutely believe you shall be reunited with your dear dear family and friends in God’s eternal Heaven…until then ..we know the best is yet to come. You clearly have left this world a much better place for your being in it and how lucky we all were to have known you. much love your friends heart and soul margaret and teddy antonucci (Wednesday’s for Wilton)!

  28. I was saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. Over my 14 years at the Bay Area Food Bank I had the chance to talk with Tom at the various Feeding America meetings we attended. I know how much he cared about “his” food bank and the people being served. Tom’s was a life well spent and I will miss talking about our shared mission. The entire family can be proud of his work and dedication.

  29. He was a humanitarian and genius in our work to end hunger in America. We will miss him. Catherine D’Amato , Greater Biston Food Bank
