  1. Tom or Schmidtley as Sheri and I would call him was a stand up guy. In a world full of gladhands he was the real McCoy. Pain in the ass as any human I have ever met but loved. He was a generous and caring soul. Tom would never lie or try to cheat you. He was the guy that even now after not talking to him for what might be 10 years, if I had called him in the middle of the night to have him help me he would do it. He’d bitch about it but he would do it. Maybe that is why he never gave me his number. I loved Tom, like many of us did. He will be missed but he will be remembered.

  2. Patty….I wish to express my deepest sympathies to you, Aiden and McKay at this very sad time. May your memories and love for your brother console you in your grief.

  3. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the girls. We will continue to pray for strength to deal with this tragic event. Tom was a wonderful person and that is how he will be remembered.

    Sheila and Paul

  4. Sincere condolences to the entire Schmidt family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you! Jamie , Marlene and Benjamin.

  5. Barb and family, I am so sorry for your loss. When we worked together we would always seem to have breaks at the same time, and I always walked away smiling!

So many memories we all shared at work functions, holiday parties, etc. Hold on to those memories and the memories you made as a family, they will always live inside each of you.

God bless you at a time that seems horrible, but knowing Tom he would want you to celebrate his life.

    Debby Sanchez

  6. Learning of Toms passing the other morning was among the worst things I could have expected. I’m so happy to have been able to spend time with him and Barb when I came back to Rochester in June. Having been away from Rochester for many years Tom and I always kept in touch and I always looked forward to that very special Christmas card he would send that would have an original TTP sketch on he envelope, I have even framed one of those!! Toms personality was larger than life and as sad as I am to know I won’t be able to hear his wild humor anymore, I feel joy in the thought that I did know him and was someone he called a friend. Barb my condolences to you and the family.

  7. Patty and family —

The loss of a sibling is never easy and even more difficult during the holiday time. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Hoping that memories and good times will make this difficult time easier.

  8. I was stunned and dismayed to learn of Tom’s passing. Perhaps it helps to know that his memory lives on with many, many TWC colleagues. My condolences, Barb, to you and your family.

  9. Words cannot express how saddened we are to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. We will fondly remember Tom and the times we got to know him. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and human being. He leaves behind a great family and we know you will be a great source of comfort and support to one another. Our thoughts are with you at this most difficult time. Love, Sheila and Mel
