December 31, 2019. Vinnie is predeceased by his wife, Theresa Hill daughter, Valarie Hill. He is survived by his daughter, Alayna (Reo) Alderman; grandchildren, Dominick (Cathy) Lucisano, Katie (Greg) Postyn, Devon Alderman, Nina Alderman Eliza Alderman; great-grandson, Charlie Vance Postyn; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Special thanks to the caregivers at Woodside Manor for their care and attention they gave Vinnie. Vinnie's life story will be shared during his visiting hours at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.), Monday, January 6th, 3-7 PM. His funeral service will be celebrated Tuesday, January 7th, 10 AM at the funeral home followed by his interment in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Vincent "Vinnie" A. Hill was born October 29, 1925 in Rochester, NY. His parents, Alexander Bessie Hill raised their family in the Edgerton Neighborhood in Rochester. Vinnie enlisted into the US Navy in 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1946 attaining the highest rank of Coxswain. During this time he received an American Theater Medal, Victory Medal, European Theater Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Medal 1 Star. Vinnie's love Theresa dated his brother Mitchell first. Through mutual friends the two found each other and were married. They went onto having two daughters of their own, Valarie Alayna. He was hard working. The beginning of his career found him working in transportation at REA Express. He finished his career working for U of R Transportation. Vinnie's first love was family. Family always came first. He was a little bit of a home body and while he always looked forward to family get-togethers, he preferred them to be shared at home. He was proud of his American Indian Heritage. His wife Theresa was from Portugal and the two were very active in the Portuguese community. So much so, that he became the President of the Portuguese American Association here in Rochester. Vinnie liked sports. He was a NY Yankee Buffalo Bills Fan. He enjoyed watching them on TV but he also enjoyed listening to the games on his transistor radio. His also enjoyed listening to Rush Limbaugh Bob Lonsberry. His music tastes were varies but some of his favorite music was Frank Sinatra. Vinnie enjoyed having a drink, his must haves were Genesee Beer and a good glass of Brandy. He was: patriotic, generous, loving, simple, conservative, strong willed, tenacious, funny and was a man of conviction. His daughter Alayna had said "my dad led a great life" his 94 years were a gift! He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
