She later attended RBI and was trained in Secretarial Science. Prior to the birth of her children, Yolanda had worked as a private secretary for a local insurance company. When her children came into the picture she focused on raising and caring for them. She met her husband Joseph at a dance. He was in the armed forces and spent a couple of years overseas. Upon his return, he and Yolanda were married. They spent 37 years of marriage together until Joe's death in 1983. Yolanda was one of her sons' biggest fans while they played sports. She and the family enjoyed time at their family cottage in Fairhaven and many holidays in their home. She had a 1984 Ford Mustang and a 2002 Sunfire sports car which she loved to ride around in. She loved gardening, cooking, pets, shopping with friends and was a lifelong member of St. Cecelia's Church. Yolanda loved spending time outdoors with the family and was also an accomplished pianist. One highlight in her life was a trip with her husband to visit family in Italy. Yolanda enjoyed classical music, comedic movies and was a big Dancing with the Stars fan and loved to watch Golf. There was always a pot of coffee brewing at Yolanda's house and it was rare to her to find a cup hot enough to her liking. Yolanda had an upbeat, positive outlook on life, always supportive, happy, loving and caring. She enjoyed the simple things in life. Yolanda's visitation will be Wednesday, from 4-8 PM at the Funeral Home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.).
