Albert R. Brunette, Jr Albert is predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Rose Latone Brunette; parents, Albert Dorothy Brunette. He is survived by his children, Albert R. Brunette, III, Janet (Dale Raforth) Brunette-Raforth, Joseph Brunette, Sr. (Esther) Lori (Duane) Licata; grandchildren, Joseph Brunette, Jr., Karina Licata Nicholas Licata; brothers and sister, John Brunette, Gerald Brunette, William Brunette, Arthur (Linda) Brunette Dorothy Brunette-Freeman; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Albert served in the United States Army Reserves and then went into the roofing business. In 1961 he joined the Rochester Police Department, furthered his career with an Associate Degree in Police Science from MCC in 1975 later retiring in 1981 as a detective. After retirement, he was the proprietor of Brunette Bowl on Jay St for over 20 years and continued to serve the community as a school bus driver. Albert's life story will be shared during visitation, Sunday, March 24th 2-4 7-9 pm at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 Long Pond Rd.). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 25th, 10:00 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, 2400 W. Ridge Rd. Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to ARPALER, 1425 Lexington Ave, Rochester NY 14606 in Albert's memory. Albert Was born on July 12, 1937 to Albert and Dorothy Brunette in Rochester, NY. He was the oldest of 6 siblings and was very active in his youth, working a paper route and playing baseball. During his teen years, Albert continued in athletics, playing football, basketball and baseball. He also worked in roofing over the summers with his friend Tony Destino. Albert graduated from Madison High School in 1955 and married his high school sweetheart, Rose Latone on September 1, 1956. He served in the Army Reserves and then went into the roofing business. In 1961, Albert joined the Police Department and retired as a Detective in 1981. After retirement, he became a proprietor of Brunette Bowl on Jay Street. Albert did not stop there, he continued to serve his community as a school bus driver. One of the proudest and happiest moments of his life was becoming a grandfather to Karina, Joseph Jr. and Nicholas. Albert always made the grandkids a priority, rarely missing school or sporting events. He loved taking his grandkids to fun activities like fruit picking, pumpkin picking and lunches during their school breaks. Albert traveled periodically to Las Vegas and always managed to 'break even" in the casino. He enjoyed hosting large gatherings for holidays, birthdays and barbeques. Albert was known as the "grill master" as he was an excellent cook of any meat and seafood. Some of his hobbies were watching sports on T.V. and coin collecting. He was a proud member of the Rochester City Police Locust Club and the ARPALER. Albert looked forward to weekly breakfast meetings with fellow retirees and he was very generous with support and donations to Greece PAL and local youth sports. He was an avid Yankees fan, as he looked forward to baseball season each year and planned everything around game time. While watching sports on T.V., he was always very passionate, often yelling at the T.V during a game. Albert also spent time watching detective shows on T.V. like Perry Mason, Columbo, Forensic Files and old western movies on TCM network. As a father of four children, he was a disciplinarian and a hard worker, which equaled a great provider to his family. Albert was described as loving, loyal, brave, strong and generous. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and he will always be fondly remembered by his loving friends and family.
