  1. Wendy Hughes Antonio Relation to Deceased: Former Student I appreciated Mrs. Altavela’s teaching and encouragement. She inspried me to pursue an art degree and helped many of her students to express themselves and train their eyes and hands. I will always think of her fondly, and her family is in my thoughts and prayers.

  2. Mary LaMonaco (Wallace) Relation to Deceased: old neighbor I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. I remember the fun times we had when we were kids together. It’s a tough time right now, but always remember the good times you all had. Take care and love to you all Mary The butterfly emerges from its silken shell- Reborn, it arises, no longer bound to earth. Free at last, the butterfly glides to heights unknown before. So do our loved ones find a beautiful release as, earthbound no more, they leave our sight and joyfully rise to a garden of matchless beauty, a place of light and peace. -Evelyn Phillips

  3. Gary Lessord Relation to Deceased: Former student and family friend Mrs. A had a major impact on my continual pursuit of art. I was a guest in her home during my high school and college days at which time I met her husband Patrick and all of her children. When I was in a major National Wildlife Gallery show up in the Toronto area (back in the late 80’s) she and her husband Pat came to the opening. When I was interviewed for the feature cover artist in the April 2004 issue of Art Calendar Magazine I gave her specific credit in the article about my career. I sent her a copy and the postcard image of “Creative Splendor” that was on the cover. The article can be found on my website at this link -http://garylessord.com/album.html Mrs. A played a pivotal role in guiding me in the National Scholastic Art competitions during my Churchville-Chili high school years. With that guidance I ultimately won the National Portfolio Competition and a scholarship to The Rochester Institute of Technology. She was not only a mentor but also a friend. God Bless her and her family! With sincere sympathy and thanks – Gary Lessord 407-290-0816 KGLessord@aol.com http://www.garylessord.com 121 Grand Junction Blvd Orlando, FL 32835 The butterfly emerges from its silken shell- Reborn, it arises, no longer bound to earth.
