Thomas J Barnes Relation to Deceased: Graduated Hilton High Class of 80 I want to extend my family condolences for the loss of Mr. Garno. I remember him well from many years of school in Hilton Central High School. He was a great person and we will say a prayer for him and your family. Safely Home I am home in Heaven dear ones: Oh, so happy and so bright! There is perfect joy and beauty in this everlasting light. All the pain and grief is over, every restless tossing passed I am now at peace forever, safely home in Heaven at last. Then you must not grieve so sorely, for I love you dearly still; try to look beyond earth shadows, Pray to trust our Father’s will There is work still waiting for you, so you must not idly stand: do it now, while life remaineth you shall rest in Jesus’ land When that work is all completed, He will gently call you Home; oh the rapture of that meeting, oh the joy to see you come!
Peter A. Spina Relation to Deceased: college friend My sincere condolences to the Garno family. Tom and I were at Albany State in the late ’50s. He was well regarded there as he was as an educational administrator in Hilton. God bless you all. The butterfly emerges from its silken shell- Reborn, it arises, no longer bound to earth. Free at last, the butterfly glides to heights unknown before. So do our loved ones find a beautiful release as, earthbound no more, they leave our sight and joyfully rise to a garden of matchless beauty, a place of light and peace. -Evelyn Phillips
Marilyn Waingarten Relation to Deceased: colleague I worked with Tom as a teacher at Hilton High School, where I received much support from his as principal. During the Blizzard of 1977, he brought me to stay at the Garno home for several days, when he saw that I could not get to my own home. I have not seen Tom since he retired in 1992, but I have thought about him in recent days and was startled and saddened to see his obituary today. It was nice to read that Tom & Kathryn were blessed with many grandchildren. My prayers go out to all of you in this enormous loss.
