Helen graduated from Madison High School, began her working career at Bausch and Lomb in 1939, and was a long time employee of the City of Rochester Treasurer's office. Helen was a faithful member of St. Augustine's parish.
Helen had a zest for life. She made friends wherever she went, but the center of her life was her family. She enjoyed using Facebook and Skype to keep tabs on everyone. She loved getting together with her family, most recently for her 95th birthday celebration on Canandaigua Lake. Her travels took her to her ancestral home, Florina, in the mountains of Greece, to St. Petersburg, Russia, and to the Caribbean island of St. Barth. Helen was a fabulous painter and the family will treasure her watercolors, oils, and drawings, especially those capturing vacation time spent together. She was a nationally recognized Wii bowler and loved music, especially Frank Sinatra. "I faced it all and I stood tall; and I did it my way."
A mass of Christian burial will be held 10AM on Friday, September 9th at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St, PO Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057 or the Humane Society at Lollypop Farm, 99 Victor Rd, Fairport NY 14450 in Helen's memory
