We have missed not seeing her out tending to her flowers or stopping for a chat as she got the mail. She was a beautiful lady. So sorry to hear of her passing. Our thoughts are with your family. We always shared stories when we worked at Wrentham about our families and my German holiday traditions and my wife’s Swedish traditions. After moving on I would always see her a few times a year at the Stoney Brook Fair or at Rock Hill Crafts. Always a warm hug and and catching up on her family and my daughters. Erik DeBriae I’m sorry to hear about your mother’s passing. Johanna was a good friend to our family and especially close to our mother Agnes. I have happy memories of Johanna and Pete together at the Boylston Schul-Verein German club, where it seemed they particularly enjoyed the Christmas concerts. I still have some of Johanna’s honey (hers was the best) and some of her bee’s wax candles that I use on special occasions. She touched our family in many ways.

MY ANCESTORS WERE FROM GERMANY AND MANY OF THE RECORDS WERE IN A FORM OF DIALECT I DID NOT KNOW. JOHANNA WAS ABLE TO TRANSLATE THEM FOR ME. I LOVED THEIR BEESWAX CANDLES AND BOUGHT THEM FOR EVERY OCCASION. I MOVED OUT OF TOWN ABOUT 11 YEARS AGO BUT ALWAYS ASKED ABOUT THEM. IN FACT, LAST NIGHT I WAS LOOKING OVER SOME GENEOLOGY FORMS PETE HAD GIVEN ME . I STILL USE THEM TO THIS DAY. I HOPE THE FAMILY KNOWS THAT THEY WERE SPECIAL TO A LOT OF PEOPLE AND WERE GREAT ROLE MODELS. PLEASE ACCEPT MY CONDOLENCES.
