  7. Joe built my parents House on Mendota Drive. He was also my shop teacher at Athena. He was patient but firm in his teachings. Going to be missed. Roger W. Thaine Sr.

  8. It was sad to see the announcement of Joe’s passing. I still recall what great neighbors you were to my parents, Ruth and Gus. And I recount a story Joe told my dad and I one day about one of the smartest boys he was teaching in shop class. The boy came to Joe and said he was unable to locate the center of the object as instructed because the batteries in his calculator had died. Joe told him to get two strings and stretch them from corner to corner, where they cross is the center. I think we all need a little more of that. Common sense, and strings.

  9. I will never forget the first time I met Joe, he picked me up in a bear hug and said “welcome to the family” He actually picked me up off the driveway!
Joe was one of the kindest men I know, he would do anything for you to make sure you were ok. He and Fran always made sure my plate was full at the family dinners, and loved giving me foods “I never had before”. I know he is smiling down on all of us now. Nick and I will miss you so much, but we also know you are in a better place with Tony & David. You will always be in our hearts.
    Katie Hussar

  10. We have been friends with Fran & Joe for over 50 years. During the 20 years we spent in Greece we had many great times together. Our favorites were the weekly dinners we had together.
We will never forget these precious times together . We will miss Joe but know he is a better. Place and will look forward to the day we are together again
