Roseann Pochalski, daughter, beloved wife and mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend to many has found comfort in life's release and is at peace. Roseann (Roe, Rosie) passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was not alone.
Roseann is predeceased by her husband, Eugene Pochalski; parents, Harry & Bertha Rakowski; siblings, Robert Rakowski & Dorothy Braun. She is survived by her children, Michael Pochalski & Christine Hudson; grandchildren, Joseph Elardo, Christopher (Brenda) Pochalski, Michael (Julie) Pochalski, Michaela Rose Hudson & Thomas Eugene Hudson; great-grandchildren, Kennedy & William Hudson, Cam, Steven, Ben & Andrew, Braden Lee Elardo; dozens of nieces, nephews & many dear friends.
After graduation from Nazareth Academy, Roseann followed in the footsteps of her mother, in service to others at the Red Cross, where she served for several years.
At 22, she married a Coast Guard communications officer. The trajectory of her life switched focus from public to personal service as she raised their children honoring tradition while embracing the future.
Roseann returned to the workforce in 1985 and enjoyed a respected position at Kodak for the next 6 years before retiring in 1991, alongside her husband of 35 years. Their love and commitment inspired us all.
Roseann survived her husband 17 more years. A long life in which the final years were endured with amazing strength and courage though joy was shadowed by pain and love was bittersweet. Life is uncertain, yet she was forever grateful of the gift.
A service in celebration of her life will begin at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 13th, 2024 at the funeral home of Bartolomeo & Perotto, 1411 Vintage Lane. Memorial donations can be made in Roseann's name to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
