On behalf of the whole Soricone Family, I send our heartfelt sympathy and condolences. Vinnie, his siblings and so many other members of the extended Gionta clan, have always been an important part of our family experience. Our dad Pat, a life-long friend, and eventual RC colleague regrets that his physical condition prevented him from coming in person. Pat will be feeling the loss especially hard as their regular phone chats were a highlight of the week.

I graduated from Aquinas with Vince in 1955. I played on the football team with him. He was one tough little guy. No quit in him. I always thought Vince was a fantastic person. We were friends in High School. I probably only saw him 4 or 5 times in 64 years but when I saw him it was like old times. We laughed and talked about Aquinas. It was great.
My sympathy to his whole family. Vine is in Heaven Now wondering why everyone is sad!
For many years I was the advertising rep for Rochester Colonial for the D&C and Vince was my main contact. I recall the many times sitting in his office on Lyell Ave laying out ads and shooting the bull. I always liked how he was a no nonsense guy….often he would tell me not to “mess it up” and then wink. A truly great guy. RIP
Vince Gionta was a pillar in the Rochester building materials industry for many years. He and his family built a very impressive business by working hard and taking nothing for granted. I will remember the NARI meetings in the 70’s and the respect he commanded from the contractors with whom he dealt and the leadership position earned by Rochester Colonial in the industry.
He was always very kind to me in my early years as an outside salesman for Peterson’s Rfg Materials which I will not forget.
Rest in peace.
